Halloween takes an important part in the western civilization, just as Christmas and Thanksgiving. We were glad that we got to celebrate it with our classmates.

One week before that day, Teacher Jam told us to bring a pack of Oreo, a box of Pretzel, and a bag of M&M chocolate. He said that we were going to do something interesting, so everybody felt so excited about it. On the Halloween day, we made cute spiders and cool faces by putting those snacks together. It was truly an impressive activity. Thanks to Teacher Jam’s creative mind. After that, we watched a movie while eating the snacks we made. Some scenes were terrifying, but we seemed to enjoy the movie. Then, we went trick-or-treating. We dressed up in costumes. Some of us even put on makeup, and we went on the tour.

The Halloween activity really gave us a great memory. We really enjoyed it, and hopefully, we will have this activity again with Teacher Jam next year.

Based on the Internet, Halloween was created to pray for good harvest and to let the dead rest in peace. But nowadays, it is celebrated by kids and teenagers in many countries to go trick or treating. People also dress up as their favorite character or even put on makeup to surprise others. Hence, Halloween has always been one of our favorite events to celebrate.

This year, we celebrated it with Teacher Jam. First, he divided our class into smaller groups, so we worked with our friends. Then, he taught us how to use these yummy snacks to make “eatable” spiders and faces. Everybody confidently turned our cookies into something unexpected. It was both exciting and interesting to create our own and see others’ work. In the end, we ate the “monsters” we made and even shared them with our friends.

It was a special experience for all of us since we rarely celebrate Halloween in Taiwan. Thank you, Teacher Jam, for letting us have the best Halloween activity.

Halloween is a fun festival around the world. We also celebrated this holiday in class. Teacher Armon first taught us the history of Halloween and its origins. He then taught us important Halloween vocabulary.  We played different Halloween games. One game was a student had to pin a tail on a black cat while blindfolded. It was funny seeing my classmates trying to put the tail on the cat in the right place. Next, we played a Halloween vocabulary guessing game. Teacher Armon told us that the name of the game is Halloween charades. A student would stand with their backs turned away from the screen that displayed a Halloween word. Their teammates will try to explain the word to them without saying the word. It had to be all in English or you will lose a point. In the end, our team won and Teacher Armon gave us candy. It was a fun lesson!

Teacher Armon’s last Thursday’s class was about Halloween. We played Halloween games in class after learning about where Halloween came from. First, we played a game that required a blindfold. So, Teacher Armon, had the students cover their eyes with their masks. They were then spun around a few times before being asked to stick a black tail on a cat that was projected on a screen. It was really funny to watch. We then played Halloween charades. You had to help your teammate guess the Halloween word that was projected behind them. Even though my team lost, it was still fun to play. I was happy to have had this Halloween activities class!
